Bespoke Butter Dish T's & C's
As I have received so many orders for bespoke butter dishes, here are my ground rules to keep my operation running smoothly! Please understand that by ticking you agree to my terms, you have essentially signed a commission contract, so please read through them carefully before you agree.
Terms & Conditions
WAIT TIME
My work is commissioned monthly, but please do not expect it to arrive in the same month that you ordered it. It will most likely be the month afterwards. Please DO NOT order one for an upcoming birthday or event, as I cannot fast-track any orders and I need to have plenty of time in case something goes wrong. Handmade pottery takes a long time to produce, as I have to dry pieces slowly to avoid cracks.I am only one person. Please understand that there is no way around this.
DEPOSIT
In order to secure your place in line for a bespoke butter dish, I require a £40 deposit. If you do not send a deposit within 24 hours of submission, you will be removed from the wait list. This deposit is refundable up until the point that I have already started making your butter dish. Therefore, if you think you need to cancel an order, please do it as soon as possible. I cannot refund your deposit after I have already made your dish, even if you do not want it. The deposit helps cover the cost of materials and firing before I have paid myself for the labour.
CHANGING DETAILS
If you decide to change the colour of the bottom dish or change the dog on top of the dish, I am able to do this up until the point where I have already started making your butter dish. Please let me know of any changes promptly. Changes CANNOT be made after your dish has already been through the first firing.
PRICES
As my butter dishes have vastly grown in popularity, I have increased the price. This means that I can do this as my full-time job and set up and run my own studio and kiln. My bespoke butter dishes are now £98 plus postage and packaging for one dog on top and £115 plus postage and packaging for two dogs.
IMPERFECTIONS
Please understand that imperfections are unfortunately a part of the pottery process, and I cannot make a perfect replica of your dog. Pigments in the clay may cause little marks. Hairline cracks under the glaze may appear during the final firing. The top dishes may have a few chips where they sat on the kiln shelf. All of these imperfections will be discounted by £5. The only time I will remake your butter dish due to imperfections is if the dish is completely dysfunctional.
DELIVERY
As pottery must be well-packaged to post, I have had to increase my packaging and postage prices. This will be £6.50. They are posted with Royal Mails 48 Tracked service. The additional money is to cover the cost of packaging, as I use bubble wrap, tissue paper, corrugated cardboard, parcel tape, fragile tape, and cardboard to aid your butter dish in travelling safe.

I always use Royal Mail to deliver my orders. This is because they are the most reliable and deliver to more remote British islands. Unfortunately, I am unable to sell my work in the EU and the USA. This is due to new regulations and shipping tariffs. Please do not place an international order without contacting me first.

Unfortunately, I cannot accept responsibility for dishes that are broken in the post. In the rare event of a dish breakage, please take a photo of the broken dish as soon as you open it then I will help you process a claim with Royal Mail to get your money back.

I do not accept returns for commissioned work.
