July - 2026

Unfortunately, Lady Luck has not been on my side again this month.

I attempted to slow down and try to 'reset' after moving studios again, due to ongoing firing issues with my kiln, numerous expenses, and fixes. I was enjoying being back on the wheel, making mugs and vases again.

However, the stress of the past year, as well as the general stress of being self-employed and attempting to save money and apply for a mortgage, has definitely taken its toll on my health.

The past few weeks of July, my health has been deteriorating, and last week of July saw me lose feeling in my limbs, chronic pain and lose the ability to walk, finally being admitted to the hospital. I'm now undergoing a diagnosis for an autoimmune condition after my MRI results showed multiple abnormalities and nerve damage along my spine.

I have been suppressing and dismissing my symptoms for a few years now, and had presumed the chronic fatigue and aches were all 'normal' and everyone who works long hours, being self-employed, felt this way. Now, I will have to make dramatic changes to the way I work, reducing the number of hours I work and the amount of work I can produce. The past year, my work grew in popularity in ways I never thought it would, and I said 'yes' to everything I possibly could. However, at the end of the day, I am just one person, and my health must come before all else.

For August, I will not be working but instead will be continuing treatment from home and taking each day as it comes. I will open my website stock as soon as I feel well enough to do so for the prints and coasters I have available. I apologise to those who were looking forward to my next website restock and the possibility of my waiting list opening again.

Thank you for your understanding!
